GoAuto reported on 21 October that Exeed and Exlantix International chief executive Lilian Xiong told Australian media in Shanghai that the premium marque is planned for Australia in 2027. The first two right-hand-drive models shown were the ET SUV and ES GT shooting brake.
For Australian buyers, the main change is a potential new shortlist option rather than an order opportunity. GoAuto’s report describes Exlantix as the local name for Chery’s premium electrified marque and says the ET and ES GT were displayed in right-hand drive at the event.
The report says the company plans both battery-electric and range-extender technologies for its Australian line-up, but it is not yet clear which versions will be offered on each model. The report does not establish final Australian equipment, battery choices, certification, pricing or a showroom date.
That distinction matters because specifications advertised for Chinese or European versions may not carry across to Australian cars. A buyer considering a purchase now should compare vehicles currently sold here, not budget around an unannounced Exlantix price or assume an overseas range figure applies locally.
The useful next milestone is a local product announcement with final variants, warranty, servicing, pricing and delivery timing. Until then, treat the 2027 plan as a reported manufacturer intention from a direct media interview, not a live Australian sales offer.
