Chery says iCAUR will be a premium brand in New Zealand with its own sales and service network. The first planned models are the V23, V25 and V27; prices and local specifications have not been announced.
At an October 21 media round table in China, iCAUR executives told EVs and Beyond the brand has no ute, diesel or ladder-frame off-roader planned. Its focus is SUVs with battery-electric and range-extender powertrains. This is iCAUR’s product direction; Chery Group’s separate Stockman ute is a different model.
For New Zealand, the brand is planned above Chery with a separate sales and service network; dealer recruitment has started. V23, V25 and V27 are named as its first local models. No NZ launch date, price, range, battery, charging specification or model-by-model powertrain is given.
If you are waiting for a small Jimny-sized 4x4 or diesel ute, the interview points away from iCAUR offering one. It does not mean every global variant will come here, nor does a planned model name guarantee a particular NZ trim or delivery date.
Treat V23/V25/V27 as a pipeline announcement, not a buying shortlist. Before comparing with Chery, Omoda or Jaecoo, wait for NZ pricing, exact drivetrain and confirmed retailer/service details; overseas pages may describe a different configuration.
