ATTO 3 EVO Dynamic vs EV3 Air SR MY27: entry SUV equipment and charging in Australia

Dynamic brings documented camera and seat kit; Air SR MY27 occupies less body length. Compare the actual Australian grades, charging windows and complete local quotes.

Start with the equipment and parking task the entry grade must solve

I would test ATTO 3 EVO Dynamic first if its documented 360° camera and front-seat equipment address a regular problem and the completed local quote is competitive. Put EV3 Air Standard Range MY27 first when a shorter body and its actual cabin arrangement better suit your parking and passengers. Do not pay for either car expecting the headline features of a higher grade.

Both are front-wheel-drive battery-electric SUVs. The current Australian Dynamic is not the UK EVO Design, and this Air is not the long-range or GT-Line version. Both need dependable charging. We have not obtained two matched postcode-specific driveaway proposals, so no purchase-price gap or automatic running-cost winner is established here.

The decision changes if the actual unit, insurance, family fit or charging arrangement fails your needs. A slightly larger laboratory range figure or a faster-looking charging headline cannot rescue a car that is awkward to park every day or cannot charge where you normally leave it.

Dynamic and Air SR MY27: fix the Australian identity before the quote

BYD's current Australian brochure selects Dynamic as a 60.48 kWh LFP, 150 kW front-wheel-drive car with 400 V architecture. Premium has different battery, drive and charging specifications. The range-wide 800 V and 220 kW advertising must not be added to a Dynamic order.

Kia's current Australian brochure is explicitly Model Year 2027 despite the unchanged file address. Air 2WD Standard Range has a 58.3 kWh battery and 150 kW front motor. The document says specifications can change and retains an inspection caveat dated 27 August 2026, including information on other variants. A MY27 brochure is not confirmation that a particular physical car is allocated to you.

Current manufacturer and configuration routes establish local offers. We have not supplied a postcode, placed an order or reserved stock. The actual build, model year, colour and handover date should appear in the retailer's proposal. A default stock message in a configurator does not establish the inventory of every dealer.

A$41,990 before on-road costs is not a matched driveaway comparison

The BYD configurator gives Dynamic a base amount of A$41,990. Without a location, its completed driveaway amount is not established. Match registration category, postcode, colour, delivery and accessories before deciding what it actually costs to take home. A base amount is useful context, not a substitute for the final payable amount.

Kia's build tool likewise requires location for its local estimate. Its stated basis includes the recommended price, applicable luxury-car tax, registration and CTP, stamp duty and estimated dealer delivery. We have not closed an Air SR MY27 quote, and do not insert an older-model launch price simply to create a convenient difference.

BYD's ordering terms also distinguish an order request from allocation and confirmed promotion eligibility. We have not paid the displayed order fee or secured a delivery promise. Ask about refund terms and timing before acting. If financing or salary packaging interests you, compare complete agreements separately; a monthly amount does not establish a lower car price or a personal tax saving.

420 and 436 km are grade-specific planning references

Dynamic declares 420 km combined WLTP in its Australian specification. The Air SR MY27 table gives 436 km combined WLTP. These are laboratory references for the selections, not a guarantee of the distance you will cover with family, luggage and air conditioning. The higher Premium or Air Long Range figures belong to other purchases.

The two references do not settle your longest regular route. Identify the return trip, an arrival reserve, destination charging and an alternative stop. Temperature, speed, hills and load affect the outcome. We have no matched road test that turns the small published difference into a dependable real-world advantage.

If either actual car comfortably completes the routine you need, equipment and physical fit may decide more than the catalogue difference. For costs, use purchased electricity, actual distance, charging losses and the tariffs you can access. Dividing a battery figure by a range label is not a measured household energy bill or a warranty on efficiency.

Do not compare 0-80% with 10-80% as the same task

Dynamic lists CCS2, 7 kW AC and 110 kW DC, with a 41-minute 0-80% DC reference. Premium's 11 kW AC and 220 kW DC are not Dynamic equipment. Neither the electrical architecture nor the maximum charging power demonstrates an average held throughout a session.

Air SR MY27 specifies Type 2 AC, CCS Type 2 DC, 6.9 kW single-phase and 10.5 kW three-phase on-board AC capacity. Its DC table quotes approximately 29 minutes from 10 to 80% using a 350 kW charger, or 55 minutes using a 50 kW charger. That describes the stated test setup, not a 350 kW input capability of the car.

The BYD starts at 0%; the Kia reference starts at 10%. Subtracting the published times would not demonstrate how much sooner one driver leaves the same charger. Check the real station, battery preparation, starting state, payment and a fallback. At home, supply and circuit capacity matter: three-phase capability does not create three-phase power in an existing single-phase installation. Resolve permissions and cable access before buying equipment.

155 mm more body length can matter before a litre count does

BYD publishes 4,455 mm of length and 1,875 mm of width for Dynamic. Kia publishes 4,300 and 1,850 mm for Air SR. Our subtraction gives Dynamic 155 mm more length and 25 mm more width on those declared body figures. They are not a measurement of extra cabin room or a claim about widths with mirrors.

Try the garage approach, doors and tailgate with those margins in mind. A shorter body can make a constrained space easier to live with without proving a better turning circle. Set the driver first and then check the rear-seat task with your actual passengers and child restraints.

Dynamic lists 434 litres of minimum boot/load space. Kia lists 460 litres with five seats up and 25 litres in the front compartment, using VDA labels. We have not established a common packing method or combined separate compartments into a suitcase advantage. Try the same pram or boxes with all required seats upright and the cables stored. A useful opening and loading height matter more than an unmatched volume difference.

The Dynamic camera is documented; Air is not a GT-Line cabin

Dynamic's Australian table lists a 360° camera, front and rear parking sensors and an electrically adjustable driver's seat. Its heated and ventilated front-seat rows are marked for Dynamic as well as Premium. Those are reasons to try the selected car if parking views or seat comfort are part of the purchase problem; they are not proof of better image quality or a driving experience we have measured.

Air SR MY27 lists a rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines and front/rear sensors. Its Air column does not include the powered driver's seat, heated or ventilated front seats shown for higher grades. Do not borrow the heated-seat equipment of a UK Air or the upholstery and powered tailgate of an Australian higher grade.

Kia Air does list dual-zone climate control, whereas Dynamic's table specifies single-zone. Try temperature controls, seat adjustment, phone connection and the functions used by both front occupants. More included equipment does not always mean more convenient controls for your household. Confirm the final car and software during inspection rather than treating a model-page photograph as the complete order.

Separate assistance equipment from a crash or reliability result

Both national documents list driver-assistance and restraint equipment, but we have not conducted matched braking, alert or crash-protection tests. AEB or adaptive cruise on a list does not mean autonomous driving, and a camera-angle label does not prove that every obstacle will be detected. Ask for a safe demonstration and inspect the child-restraint arrangement you need.

Obtain insurance and servicing proposals for these exact Australian selections. Check applicable vehicle and battery cover, exclusions, maintenance requirements, roadside help and the workshop that will diagnose a fault. We have no equivalent repair-delay, failure or resale dataset for these two versions. A warranty headline, overseas owner report or the size of a brand's range cannot establish a lower ownership cost for your unit.

Choose what improves the everyday task, then compare the contracts

Put Dynamic first when its included camera and seating equipment are useful, it fits your parking and the completed postcode quote makes sense. Do so on its 400 V, 7 kW AC and 110 kW DC specification, not a promise to receive Premium charging for the entry price.

Put Air SR MY27 first when its smaller exterior and actual controls suit your household, its selected equipment is sufficient and the dealer's delivered quote is acceptable. Its 436 km WLTP reference is context for planning; it is not a measured range victory or compensation for an inconvenient charging arrangement.

Take the same passengers and load to both cars, confirm the unit and return with two complete proposals. If neither works, expand the shortlist through the Australian guides. Do not rush a deposit merely because a configuration page displays a base price or an anticipated benefit.

Australian source dates and calculation limits

Australian model, configuration and specification sources were refreshed on 20 October 2026 UTC. The BYD Dynamic/Premium and Kia MY27 Air SR tables were rechecked. The Kia document's 27 August inspection qualification remains part of its scope; a current specification does not prove an individual car's build or availability.

The differences of 155 mm in length and 25 mm in width are editorial subtraction of the published dimensions. No vehicle was ordered, financed, road-tested, loaded or charged by CathayEV for this comparison. Exact on-road amounts, quote eligibility, build, allocation, delivery and personal running costs remain open. The recommendations depend on charging access, the task demonstrated by the actual cars and complete contracts.

Questions before comparing the entry SUVs

Does Dynamic get the Premium 800 V and 220 kW charging figures?
No. The Australian Dynamic column identifies 400 V architecture, 7 kW AC and 110 kW DC. Premium is a different battery, drivetrain and charging selection.
Is the Kia guaranteed to finish charging twelve minutes sooner?
No. Dynamic quotes 41 minutes from 0-80%; Air SR quotes about 29 minutes from 10-80% on a 350 kW charger. They are different windows and manufacturer test references, not a shared session.
Does the current Air SR have heated front seats like some other Air versions?
The Australian MY27 Air column does not include heated or ventilated front seats. Check the actual national grade; overseas Air equipment and higher Australian grades do not define this order.
Is A$41,990 the complete driveaway price difference?
It is the BYD base amount before a postcode-specific on-road total, not a two-car difference. A matched current Kia quote and both complete delivered proposals remain necessary.
