Work at Sandhurst Street Car Park is due to begin on that date; the council post does not confirm a public opening date, operator or tariff.

Oadby & Wigston Borough Council says work is due to begin on Friday 23 October to install eight solar-powered electric-vehicle charging points at Sandhurst Street Car Park.

That is a planned installation date, not confirmation that construction has begun or that drivers can charge. The council’s public post gives no commissioning or opening date.

In the accessible post, the council does not name an operator or specify a tariff, payment method, connector or power rating. “Solar-powered” is the council’s description; the post does not explain how the electricity supply will work.

For local drivers, the useful follow-up is a confirmed opening date, operating company, public-access arrangements and charging prices. Until those details are available, treat the eight points as planned capacity rather than a usable charging option.
