The paid service covers participating public-charging networks and home-charging reimbursement. Advertised savings depend on how much and where each fleet charges.
Octopus launched FleetBoost on 7 October. Autocar’s 21 October coverage describes the service as available through the Octopus Fleet platform, with public-charging reductions at MFG EV Power, IONITY and Be.EV.
The service charges a monthly fee per driver. Developed with Rightcharge, the platform supports public-charging payments, home-charging reimbursement and fleet spending records. The initial reductions cover the three named networks; Octopus says it wants to add others.
What sits behind the savings estimate
Octopus advertises public-charging savings of up to 30% and up to £730 per vehicle annually. Its footnote says the estimates include the monthly FleetBoost fee and assume 15,000 miles a year at 0.3 kWh per mile. They are the provider’s estimates, with different results possible for a different charging pattern.
For a fleet manager, the useful comparison is the complete charging bill: subscription, eligible network prices, home reimbursement and the share of charging that can move to covered sites. A nominally cheaper network is less useful when reaching it adds time or mileage to a working route.
Check the routes your drivers use
Compare a typical month’s charging sessions with participating sites and ask for a calculation based on your own mileage and consumption. Include the fee and sessions at other operators. The offer is for commercial fleets; private motorists should not assume they receive the same terms.
