Our take
The ATTO 3 is BYD's compact electric SUV and one of the better-known Chinese EVs in New Zealand. BYD is both the brand and the parent company, and it builds its own batteries. It suits families who want a roomy, practical SUV for daily driving. The Superior is listed at NZ$49,990 before on-road costs and quotes 420 km WLTP, which is enough for most weekly use. The trade-off is DC fast charging: the peak of 88 kW is modest, so longer trips need more patience at the charger. The boot is generous for the class, which counts for a lot on family holidays. We list a single trim, so check the dealer for other versions.
