Surf Boost vs Grande Panda Electric Pop: UK charging hardware and parking kit

Compare UK Boost and Electric Pop before the monthly payment: standard cables, optional 11 kW charging, exact parking kit and current price bases.

The verdict

Start with Surf Boost if four seats cover your needs and its rear camera, power front seats and standard 11 kW AC hardware prove useful. Start with Grande Panda Electric Pop if its standard 7 kW spiral cable suits your parking point and you prefer its controls and LED lighting. Complete both exact purchase proposals before choosing on money.

A useful cable or camera matters more than a monthly headline

I would begin with Surf Boost if four places cover the household and its rear camera, electric front-seat adjustment and charging equipment solve recurring tasks. I would begin with Grande Panda Electric Pop if you prefer its controls and LED lighting and the standard retractable cable genuinely works at your parking point. Neither preference establishes a completed price winner.

Before paying a deposit, try the reversing view and seating position, then check how the supplied cable reaches the charging point. A family photograph or FAQ does not add higher-grade equipment to Pop or Boost. Surf's four-seat UK specification also needs to match the passengers you carry. Fiat's five-door price-list entry is not, by itself, a verified seating-capacity statement for your ordered car.

Boost 43.2 and Electric Pop 44 are the actual UK choices

BYD's current UK specification gives Boost a 43.2 kWh LFP battery, 65 kW front motor and four seats. Lookers advertises the exact 65 kW Boost five-door automatic as brand new to order, with an enquiry route. That does not establish a physically allocated car or immediate delivery. The larger Dolphin and Surf Comfort are different configurations.

Fiat's current Q4 2026 price guide identifies Grande Panda Electric Pop 44 kWh, 113 hp or 83 kW, with front-wheel drive. The Electric Pop page has configuration and price routes. It is not Grande Panda Hybrid, Icon or La Prima. Have model year, build specification, seats, colour, cable and delivery confirmed in writing. No vehicle was ordered, allocated or inspected for this comparison.

Use the current Q4 Pop list, then obtain two complete proposals

Fiat's current Q4 table gives Pop £21,495 OTR, made from £20,604 retail including VAT and £891 OTR charges. The older £20,995 reference in an earlier guide is not used as today's list. Paint and options must match the actual car; the 11 kW H58 option is £350 including VAT. The website's £329 monthly hire and £999 initial rental refer to a La Prima example, not Pop cash ownership.

Lookers shows Boost at £20,534.36 against £21,975 RRP, alongside a separate PCP monthly reference. We have not obtained its complete unconditional personal cash proposal. A dealer advert and a manufacturer OTR list are different purchase references. Confirm paint, accessories, registration, any fees, eligibility and delivery before subtracting one from the other. For finance, match deposit, term, mileage, APR, fees and final payment; do not subtract an advertised saving twice.

Standard 7 kW with a spiral cable is not the optional 11 kW specification

Surf Boost publishes an 11 kW onboard AC charger. Fiat Pop publishes 7 kW as standard with a retractable spiral cable. The Q4 Fiat option table offers H58, an 11 kW onboard charger without that spiral cable, for £350 including VAT. Do not specify the 11 kW option and assume the standard spiral cable comes with it.

An 11 kW onboard rating does not make an ordinary home supply deliver 11 kW. Ask an installer to assess available phases, protections, permissions, cable reach and total work. Confirm the connector and cables actually supplied with the ordered car and the point you will use. The spiral cable is useful only if its position and reach suit that point; it is not an installed home charging system.

If your ordinary charging arrangement cannot exceed 7 kW, the larger onboard rating alone may add little to that routine. If you have a suitable higher-power AC point, ask Fiat whether H58 is available with your build and what cable equipment it requires.

Rear camera and powered seats versus Pop lighting and simpler grade choices

The UK BYD material assigns Boost electric front-seat adjustment, rear camera and sensors, folding mirrors and 16-inch alloy wheels. It does not acquire Comfort's heated front seats, 360-degree camera or stronger motor. The specification lists halogen headlights for Boost; do not illustrate it with higher-grade lighting and call that standard.

Fiat Pop's exact grade list specifies LED lights, rear parking sensors, manual air conditioning, manual front-seat adjustment and wireless smartphone mirroring on a 10.25-inch screen. The general family FAQ and technical page mention a rear camera, but the trim list places that feature in La Prima. We do not add it to Pop without a matching proposal.

Try demisting, phone connection, reversing and the driver's position while stationary. Ordinary cruise control on Pop is not adaptive cruise; assistance remains supervised. Choose on the functions that actually help rather than the number of items in an advertisement.

Try the same load instead of treating litres as a packing result

BYD declares 308 litres behind the rear seats and 1,037 with them folded. Fiat's technical page gives a 361-litre boot. No common packing method or own loading test was established, and a folded-seat volume does not describe a trip with those seats occupied. Bring the buggy, bags and people you actually need, check closure and retain the necessary seats.

Surf is declared at 3,990 mm long and Fiat at 3,999 mm: nine millimetres of editorial difference does not decide the parking task. Fiat's quoted 2,017 mm width includes mirrors, so it is not directly ranked against BYD's body-width measurement. Check the actual mirrors, door opening and cable access. If you need a fifth passenger position, verify the seating and restraints on the offered cars before making a deposit; the UK Surf reference has four.

The quoted 27 and 30 minutes cover different windows

Boost declares 200 miles combined WLTP and Grande Panda Electric 199. Those laboratory references do not make either a motorway or winter winner. Battery sizes have not been established on a matched useful-capacity basis here, and nominal capacity divided by a headline distance is not measured energy purchased.

Surf publishes 85 kW DC and 30 minutes from 10 to 80%. Fiat gives 100 kW DC and 27 minutes from 20 to 80%; its listed AC times of four hours twenty at 7 kW and two hours fifty at 11 kW also use 20-80%. Different starting percentages prevent those minute figures from measuring the same charging stop. The peak rating is not power maintained throughout the session. Prepare the longer journey with realistic reserve and an accessible alternative, not a catalogue stopwatch.

Quote the support and learn the limits before choosing assistance

Request the applicable vehicle and battery warranty, exclusions, maintenance and local service route for each ordered car. Ask what happens if a charging fault leaves it immobile, which cable or equipment is covered and what transport support applies. No comparable UK repair-delay, failure-rate or resale dataset was obtained for this pair.

Both offer braking and lane-related assistance, with grade differences. We have not matched a common crash-test assessment to both exact UK configurations or measured any assistance intervention. A parking camera, battery demonstration or list of sensors is not a comparative injury result. Learn the limits in the manual and confirm the equipment on the offered car rather than transferring a rating from another variant.

China-side evidence

Keep overseas experiences separate from these UK charging and grade choices

A foreign-market owner report can suggest questions about controls, servicing or charging, but cannot change the UK Boost seating, light equipment or battery. Nor does an overseas Grande Panda specification establish that the UK Pop includes the 11 kW option, spiral cable and La Prima camera together. The actual ordered equipment must stay identifiable.

No matched owner sample from China or the UK was obtained to calculate failure frequency, battery degradation or residual values for this exact pair. The UK review that places Surf and Grande Panda together supplies a local rival relationship, not our own driving test or today's contract price. Keep those impressions and historical prices separate from the current manufacturer and dealer references.

Owner reports, complaint records and recall notices from the Chinese market, each with the source and the date we read it. Sample sizes are small; read them as signals, not survey results.

Check the connection, run the demonstration and compare the actual contracts

Prioritise Boost when four seats are enough, the camera and powered seats prove useful and the charging arrangement works. Prioritise Pop when its controls, LED lighting and standard cable solve the daily routine; obtain the revised hardware and cable proposal if you want H58 instead. Neither buyer should accept the wrong seating, charging access or delivery for a monthly offer.

Expand the UK alternatives if a condition fails. This is documentary research using material read on 20 October 2026 UTC, with older comparison intent labelled separately. The nine-millimetre length difference is editorial arithmetic. No own driving, charging, luggage, winter-range, collision or reliability test was conducted, and no personal purchase quotation was completed.

Questions before ordering either UK grade

Does Electric Pop include both 11 kW charging and the spiral cable?
The current UK table lists 7 kW with spiral cable as standard. H58 is an optional 11 kW onboard charger for £350 including VAT, explicitly without spiral cable. Confirm your ordered equipment.
Is the camera in the general Fiat FAQ standard on Pop?
The exact Pop trim list gives rear sensors; the rear camera appears in La Prima. This comparison does not add the camera to Pop from the general FAQ or technical page.
Is £21,495 a current Pop reference?
It is the Q4 2026 Electric Pop OTR list, including £20,604 retail with VAT and £891 OTR charges. Paint, options, delivery and your actual proposal still need confirmation.
Does Fiat beat Surf by charging in 27 rather than 30 minutes?
Those declarations use 20-80% for Fiat and 10-80% for Boost. They do not measure the same stop, and no common session was performed here.
