Our take

The B10 is Leapmotor's compact electric SUV, from a Hangzhou brand whose cars Stellantis distributes outside China. It suits households who want a practical family SUV for school runs and commuting. The Life has a 56.2 kWh battery and quotes 361 km WLTP, enough for a normal week and many trips between towns. We do not quote a price: the only figure Leapmotor shows includes a time-limited offer, so check the current price on its site. The real drawback is that Leapmotor is new to New Zealand, and its dealer and service network is still being built. Check how far away your nearest service centre is.
