TIGGO 8 PHEV vs Jogger Hybrid: seven seats and luggage

Compare UK TIGGO 8 CSH Aspire and Jogger Expression Hybrid 155 for seven occupied seats, removable row-three seats and a realistic charging routine. Check the load before the OTR quotes.

The verdict

Shortlist the TIGGO 8 CSH Aspire if you can plug in regularly and its seven occupied seats leave usable room for your people and luggage. Shortlist the Jogger Expression Hybrid 155 if a non-plug hybrid and removable third-row seats suit your changing passenger load. Neither has a documented seven-person luggage or comfort win here; test the actual load before choosing.

Buy the Chery TIGGO 8 CSH Aspire if

You want a plug-in seven-seater, have a practical charging plan and confirm that the exact Aspire accommodates the usual occupants, approved restraints and bags with all required seats occupied.

Buy the Dacia Jogger Expression Hybrid 155 if

You want a seven-seat full hybrid without an external charging requirement, and value removing the third-row seats when travelling with fewer people; verify the occupied layout and complete OTR proposal.

Compare Aspire PHEV with the new Expression Hybrid 155

Seven seats on a brochure cover can hide the decision that matters at the school gate or before a family trip: how many seats must stay occupied, and what must fit behind them? Start with that load. A plug-in hybrid's electric range is useful only after the family and the charging routine both fit the car.

The Chery here is the UK TIGGO 8 Super Hybrid Aspire PHEV automatic. The national model page describes seven seats and a retail route; the selected Aspire offer identifies an OTR cash price. The Dacia is the New Jogger Expression Hybrid 155 MY26, rather than the cheaper Essential TCe 110 manual or an earlier Hybrid 140. Its current UK price guide has a specific Expression Hybrid 155 row.

These are current national offers, not proof of an allocated vehicle, colour, delivery slot or registration date. Ask each retailer to identify the exact model year and configuration in the proposal. The final handbook and vehicle should confirm the seats and restraints you intend to use.

Keep every needed seat upright during the luggage demonstration

For the Chery, the national page publishes 117 litres with all seven seats in place, 494 litres with the third row folded and 1,930 litres with the rear seats folded. Those figures describe different passenger configurations. The largest number does not tell a seven-person household where its pushchair or weekly bags will go.

Dacia's current brochure labels the seven-seat minimum as 160 dm³ VDA and also gives 212 litres. Its table then separates the third row folded from the third row removed: 565 dm³ VDA / 699 litres folded, or 696 dm³ VDA / 820 litres removed. The maximum is 1,807 dm³ VDA / 2,085 litres. Keep the published units and seating states together. We have not established a measurement method shared with Chery's 117-litre figure, so neither 212 minus 117 nor a maximum-volume comparison establishes a luggage advantage.

Bring the actual bags, pushchair or mobility item, and keep all the seats you need occupied or upright. Check whether the tailgate closes, the load can be secured and the view remains acceptable. The load limit is a separate question: luggage volume does not establish remaining payload after seven people, accessories or a roof load. Obtain the offered vehicle's permissible masses and handbook instructions before planning that load.

If the real seven-person load will not fit either car safely, the shortlist needs changing. Folding away a necessary passenger seat does not solve a seven-person transport problem.

Removing seats is useful when the passenger count falls

The Jogger's two individual third-row seats fold and can be removed. That gives a household an option for days when fewer people travel: retain the rear seat you need, or take the third row out according to the handbook. Once removed, those seats are not available for passengers. Check the lifting, storage and refitting process yourself rather than assuming every family member can manage it conveniently.

Chery publishes third-row-folded luggage capacity, but the material read for this comparison does not establish that the Aspire's third-row seats can be removed in the same way. That is an unanswered equipment question, rather than a claim that removal is impossible. Ask for a demonstration and the relevant handbook instructions if it matters to your use.

Nominal seat count also says little about who can sit where. Try the usual third-row occupants and the route in and out with the second row in its realistic position. Check belts, head restraints, foot space and access when the intended child restraints are installed. Dacia documents ISOFIX on the two outer second-row positions; that does not establish seven compatible child-seat positions, or the suitability of a particular restraint. We have not performed an occupant or restraint fit test in either vehicle.

For the Expression, the brochure positively lists a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, automatic air conditioning and modular roof bars. That does not add the Extreme's heated-seat, heated-wheel or multiview equipment. Likewise, Chery's selected-grade feature footnote does not put Summit features such as the panoramic roof, Sony system or ventilated seats onto this Aspire. Put the equipment you need into the exact order.

Make charging a plan, rather than an assumed fuel saving

The TIGGO 8 PHEV declares an 18.4 kWh battery and 56 miles of WLTP electric range. The national page also lists 40 kW DC charging and around 20 minutes from 30% to 80% under controlled conditions. These are manufacturer references. Gross versus usable battery energy, the offered car's AC rating and your actual charging performance are not established here.

If you have a place to plug in, identify the car's connection, the installation or public charger you would actually use and when charging can happen around the household's trips. Confirm the AC specification on the order before sizing equipment or estimating an overnight session. The DC time does not establish an AC charging time at home. On a longer family journey, charging availability and the occupied load still affect the plan; 56 WLTP miles is not a promise for that route.

The Jogger Hybrid 155 is a full hybrid that does not need plugging in. That removes an external charging task from the household routine; it does not establish its fuel consumption under your load. If you will rarely charge a PHEV, ask Chery for the appropriate depleted-battery consumption reference and compare it with the exact Dacia's relevant test basis. The PHEV's weighted combined mpg figure cannot answer that question and has not been used to claim a saving.

There is also an unresolved Dacia document discrepancy. The current national page and price guide identify Hybrid 155, but the October Jogger brochure's technical page prints a 105 kW (140) combined-output entry and 230 V, while the current model page describes 1.4 kWh and 280 V. Keep the actual version label in the quote and ask which technical data apply to the delivered car. We do not reconcile those values by guessing a model year, or declare a power or battery-voltage winner.

Ask for cash OTR totals before comparing finance

The selected Chery Aspire page gives £33,545 as its OTR cash price. Dacia's UK price guide, effective 1 October 2026, lists the Expression Hybrid 155 MY26 at £23,330 OTR. The Dacia OTR definition includes delivery to dealer premises, number plates, twelve months' road fund licence and the £55 first-registration fee. These are published references, not two matched invoices including your chosen paint, accessories and delivery arrangements. Essential's £18,995 manual-petrol price is not the Hybrid 155 price.

Request two itemised cash OTR proposals identifying the actual cars and all required equipment. Do not deduct a finance voucher from the Chery cash reference or treat a monthly payment as the vehicle's purchase price. The current selected Aspire PCP example displays £379 monthly and 0% APR, while its table also contains £500 interest-charge, voucher and contribution entries. Those source fields have not been reconciled here. Have the retailer and lender explain the actual contract, including deposit, payments, final payment, fees, mileage and total payable, before comparing finance.

That Chery example also has retail, status, mileage, condition, combination and registration-deadline terms. Its current registration wording runs to 31 December 2026; it does not reserve an eligible car for you. No finance saving or voucher eligibility is assumed in this recommendation.

For support, distinguish a base warranty from an extension activated through servicing. Chery's current page describes seven years / 100,000 miles for the vehicle and eight years / 100,000 miles for the high-voltage battery, whichever comes first, subject to the applicable terms. Roadside assistance beyond the first year depends on authorised scheduled servicing. Dacia's standard three years / 60,000 miles differs from service-activated Zen cover up to seven years / 75,000 miles, with eligibility and activation limits. Obtain the exact vehicle, battery, component and service terms. Counting the headline years alone does not establish equivalent cover or predict reliability.

Before ordering, ask your insurer to accept the exact version and provide a personal quote. A matched insurance-group comparison has not been established here. If this is a company-car purchase, obtain the applicable P11D reference and current benefit-in-kind treatment for that order; no matched P11D comparison or personal tax calculation is supplied. The family-load decision does not establish insurance availability or salary-sacrifice cost.

China-side evidence

Use the UK configuration for this seven-seat decision

A TIGGO 8 specification from another country does not establish the seats, charging hardware, assistance systems or warranty on a UK Aspire. The comparison uses the UK national PHEV page and the selected UK Aspire offer. Jogger likewise needs its UK Expression Hybrid 155 configuration, rather than an earlier powertrain or another country's grade.

No matched Chinese-market version, current Chinese list price or attributable matched-model owner-rating sample has been established for these two UK orders. Foreign owner stories can suggest questions, but cannot prove seven-person comfort, actual fuel costs or reliability for this household. The useful next evidence is the offered vehicles, the relevant handbooks and written local support terms.

Book a loaded-layout visit before the second quote

The local primary pages and linked documents were read on 22 October 2026 UTC. Dacia's price-guide filename still contains 2025, but the document itself gives an effective date of 1 October 2026; its current Expression Hybrid 155 row is the price reference used here. The Jogger seating and luggage tables were read with their units and occupied-seat states. Chery's Foleon introduction was accessible, but its hidden technical overlays were not rendered or read, so no exact Aspire equipment matrix has been inferred from them.

This is a documentary shopping comparison, with no own road test, charging measurement, seven-person trial or ownership-cost calculation. Start the visit with the family load that must travel. Then try the changed-seat arrangement you would actually use on quieter days, and finally confirm the powertrain routine and itemised cash quote. If the Jogger's removable seats and non-plug routine solve the task, they are concrete reasons to choose it. If regular plugging in is workable and the occupied Aspire fits the family, the Chery belongs on the shortlist. Neither conclusion needs a guessed luggage, comfort or economy winner.

Questions before the family-layout demonstration

Can both cars carry seven people and their holiday luggage?
Both have seven nominal seats, but that does not establish a safe fit for your occupants, restraints and bags. Try the complete load with every required seat upright, confirm payload and secure the luggage. Folding a needed seat is not a seven-person solution.
Does removing the Jogger third row leave it as a seven-seater?
The two third-row seats are individually folding and removable, but removed seats cannot carry passengers. Removal is useful for a lower passenger count; check the handbook, lifting, storage and refitting process.
Is the Jogger boot definitely larger with seven seats occupied?
No common measurement basis has been established. Chery publishes117L, while the Dacia table gives160dm³VDA and212L for its seven-seat minimum. Keep the units and seating state, and test the actual luggage instead of subtracting the numbers.
Will the TIGGO8 save fuel if I cannot charge it?
No saving has been established. Its weighted PHEV combined result and WLTP electric range do not predict depleted-battery petrol use under your load. Ask for the relevant consumption basis; Jogger is a full hybrid without an external charging task.
Are £33,545 and £23,330 final cash quotes?
They are the selected Aspire and ExpressionHybrid155MY26 published OTR references. Obtain the actual vehicle, paint, equipment and delivery breakdown for each. Do not deduct a finance voucher or substitute a monthly payment; the Chery PCP table has unresolved fields needing a contract explanation.
