C10 BEV vs EV5 Air: UK standard equipment, charging evidence and Q4 offers

Compare UK C10 69.9 BEV and EV5 Air 81.4 for heated seats, ventilation, heat pumps, parking equipment and complete current purchase conditions.

The verdict

Start with C10 when its powered and ventilated front seats, heat pump and 360 camera solve daily tasks and its charging specification is confirmed for your routine. Start with EV5 Air when manual heated seats and a rear camera suffice and its published UK range and charging references better suit your planning. Compare complete eligible OTR proposals before deciding on money.

Buy the Leapmotor C10 BEV if

The standard cabin and parking equipment matters, the actual car and software work for you, and you can resolve its charging details before ordering.

Buy the Kia EV5 Air if

Air equipment is sufficient and its 329-mile combined WLTP reference and defined charging scenarios are useful to your planning, without assuming GT-line S extras.

Choose the useful equipment first, then check the charging and contract

C10 is the first demonstration to book if powered, heated and ventilated front seats, a heat pump and a 360-degree camera would improve everyday use. EV5 Air is the first to try if manual heated seats and a reversing camera are enough and its longer published combined WLTP range helps your journey planning. Do not pay for an imagined higher-grade Kia cabin or accept an unresolved charging specification just for a monthly offer.

Air has heated seats, but higher-grade seat ventilation is not standard Air equipment. The C10 also lists a power tailgate, while the smart power tailgate is absent from Air's column. A feature difference does not quantify comfort or winter energy consumption. Try the seating, controls and loading task before deciding how much those features are worth to you.

The comparison is UK C10 69.9 BEV against Air 81.4 FWD

The C10 here is the current UK 69.9 kWh fully electric rear-wheel-drive version, with 218 HP and 320 Nm in its local brochure. It is not the 28.4 kWh Hybrid EV or an overseas larger-battery model. Its current model and exact 69.9 kWh offer provide an authorised-retailer route, rather than proof of an allocated vehicle.

The Kia is UK EV5 Air: 81.4 kWh, 160 kW or 214 bhp, front-wheel drive and 18-inch wheels. Australian Air variants, EV6, GT and all-wheel-drive grades are different cars. The UK Air price row and specification column identify an offered configuration. Confirm each car's build, software, colour and delivery date on the proposal; neither model page establishes your individual stock allocation.

Use the Q4 saving, not the expired Q3 brochure offer

Leapmotor's current exact 69.9 kWh Light White example starts from £36,500 OTR and shows £2,750 LEAP-GRANT, giving an eligible advertised OTR of £33,750. This is a manufacturer saving for qualifying UK-resident private retail buyers, excluding fleet, business and Motability. The current saving terms run to 31 December 2026. The C10 saving has eligibility conditions and must not be deducted twice.

The linked Q3 brochure's £3,750 saving and £32,750 figure expired on 30 September. Its equipment table can inform a specification check, but its old offer is not today's price. The separate current PCP example applies to orders from 1 October to 31 December 2026: 47 payments of £399, £999 customer deposit and £98 contribution, with a £13,900 optional final payment, 6,000 miles a year and 10p excess-mile charge. The monthly amount does not buy outright ownership without the final payment.

Kia lists Air at £39,345 OTR. Its £38,505 retail figure includes VAT; the OTR table adds £10 VED, £55 first registration and £775 delivery. The £39,280 P11D entry is a different measure. Request two complete personal proposals with paint, options, delivery and eligibility aligned. We have not established two unconditional cash offers or a personal tax saving.

Check the first Air column rather than the EV5 family photographs

C10's linked UK equipment sheet gives power adjustment for both front seats, heating and ventilation, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate with heat-pump facility, panoramic glass roof with electric blind and power tailgate. Those are useful starting points for a demonstration, not proof that the seat position or touchscreen suits you.

Air has cloth trim, manual front-seat adjustment, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The exact Air column does not include front ventilation, a heat pump or smart power tailgate. It lists a 12.3-inch navigation display, 12.3-inch driver display and 5.3-inch climate display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are listed subject to compatibility; try your actual phone.

C10's present phone and software behaviour was not established for an individual car. Ask the retailer to demonstrate the functions you need rather than relying on a launch review or a promised update. No touchscreen, demisting, seat-comfort or winter-consumption test was performed here.

Use the camera and the boot with the people and load you carry

C10 lists a 360-degree camera and rear sensors. Air specifies a reversing camera and front/rear parking sensors, with no 360-degree camera in its column. A camera specification does not measure visibility or prove that a parking space works. Try reversing, mirror clearance, door opening and the actual child-restraint arrangement; assistance still requires supervision.

The current C10 model page gives 485 litres behind the rear seats and 1,645 folded, whereas older records give 435 and 1,410. We have not reconciled those methods or versions. Kia's current FWD table declares 566 litres behind the rear seats and 44 litres in front, but a common loading protocol with C10 was not established. Do not pick a packing winner from those numbers. Bring the same pram and bags, keep the required seats occupied and check that the tailgate closes.

Two 30-minute headlines do not establish the same stop

C10 publishes 263 miles combined WLTP. Air's UK figure is 329 miles combined on its 18-inch wheels; the larger city-cycle number is not substituted. Those are laboratory references, not our loaded motorway or winter results. The battery declarations have not been put on a common usable-energy basis, and a heat-pump entry alone cannot produce a winter saving.

The current C10 page's footnote says standard 54 kW charging capability. Older material uses an 84 kW peak, but their relationship was not resolved. We do not relabel 54 kW as the vehicle's maximum or silently substitute 84. Its up-to-30-minute headline also lacks a matched state-of-charge window in the current material used here. The C10 footnote does not establish a matched charging peak or a common timed session.

Kia declares 30 minutes from 10 to 80% at a 150 kW station and seven hours twenty from 10 to 100% using 11 kW three-phase AC. The 150 kW entry describes a charging-station scenario, not automatically the vehicle's peak. Kia's conditions require suitable equipment and operating conditions. Get the C10's applicable AC/DC details and charge window confirmed, then plan accessible stations, reserve and alternatives. Neither headline proves what you will receive on a cold or busy journey.

China-side evidence

Keep overseas C10 hardware and owner reports in their own context

The local C10 brochure specifies the UK 69.9 kWh version. A foreign-market battery, charging demonstration or driver-assistance video cannot change that order specification. Equally, the Australian Air name cannot supply the equipment or battery for this British EV5.

No matched China-owner sample was obtained to calculate a fault rate for these exact UK cars. Owner stories can suggest questions about software, seat adjustment or local repair support, but they do not quantify the chance of failure or guarantee service continuity. Ask each retailer for the applicable vehicle and battery warranty, exclusions, maintenance and local repair route; a company partnership or a long feature list is not a measured reliability result.

Owner reports, complaint records and recall notices from the Chinese market, each with the source and the date we read it. Sample sizes are small; read them as signals, not survey results.

What would change the choice?

Choose C10 when its demonstrated cabin and parking equipment matters enough, its eligible complete price is acceptable and its actual charging details fit your routine. Choose Air when its grade is sufficient and the published UK range and charging references are useful to your planning. If either fails the phone, load, charging-access or delivery check, widen the UK alternatives.

This is documentary research from current public HTML read on 20 October 2026 UTC, with the manufacturer's linked PDFs retained from their earlier reads that same day. The local comparison result establishes rival intent; its projections and older specifications are not our measurements. No own driving, charging, luggage, collision, reliability or winter-range test was conducted, and no personal purchase proposal was completed.

Questions before ordering C10 BEV or EV5 Air

Does EV5 Air include a heat pump and ventilated seats?
The current UK Air column lists heated manual front seats and a heated steering wheel, but no heat pump or front-seat ventilation. C10 lists a heat-pump facility and powered, heated and ventilated front seats.
Is the current C10 saving £3,750?
The current offer uses £2,750, taking the eligible £36,500 OTR reference to £33,750. The linked Q3 £3,750 offer expired on 30 September 2026. Confirm private-retail eligibility and do not deduct the saving twice.
Is the C10 now confirmed to peak at 54 kW?
No. The current page says standard 54 kW charging capability; its relationship to older 84 kW peak references is unresolved here. Ask for the applicable specification and charge window for the offered car.
Does a 30-minute claim mean both charge equally fast?
No common session was established. Kia gives a 10-80% scenario at a 150 kW station; the current C10 headline lacks a matched window. Station rating, vehicle peak and average session power are different measures.
