The Driven’s 27 October report says the network will span both islands; it does not name the sites or say which are open or provide each service.

The Driven reported on 27 October that XPeng will offer seven locations across New Zealand’s North and South Islands. The count gives buyers a starting point for checking local support, but the report does not name the sites or state which are already open.

That distinction matters for buyers. A location count alone does not show whether a site sells vehicles, handles servicing or warranty work, holds parts, or has appointments available. The article does not give a New Zealand breakdown of those functions, so it should not be read as confirmation of seven open repair centres.

New models are part of the timing

The report links the network expansion with the XPeng L03 compact SUV and G9L large SUV arriving at local showrooms. It says L03 pricing has been confirmed from NZ$49,990 before on-road costs. The article does not give a specific New Zealand delivery date or confirm available stock.

For the G9L, The Driven says pricing and specifications were due to be confirmed before the end of 2026. That is a plan stated in the 27 October report, not a confirmed delivery date or final on-road price.

The Australian distributor issue is separate

The report also describes the collapse of Australian distributor TrueEV and XPeng’s move to direct, factory-backed operations in Australia. That history should not be treated as evidence that a New Zealand distributor failed.

For buyers who purchased through TrueEV, XPeng said it would review promotional commitments individually and work towards an appropriate outcome. The article does not promise that every offer will be honoured, and it does not establish that New Zealand customers bought through TrueEV.

Before relying on a nearby location, ask XPeng which sites are currently operating and whether each offers sales, servicing, parts and warranty support. For either new model, confirm delivery timing, stock and the final on-road price directly with the seller.
