Chinese EV Industry Brief: July 2026 Milestones, Zeekr Safety Alert & ADS 5 Arrives

China's passenger NEV market posted 1.47 million wholesale units in July 2026, up 23% year-on-year and down just 1% month-on-month — the strongest year-on-year growth rate of 2026 so far. NEV penetration reached 64.4% of all passenger car sales, up from 62.9% in May, confirming that internal combustion is now the minority in China's largest auto market.
