Yes. Euro NCAP published a five-star B05 result on 2 September 2026 under its 2026 protocol. The tested 67.1kWh Design car was left-hand drive; Euro NCAP says the rating applies to the right-hand-drive 67.1kWh Design too. The MG4 EV has a five-star 2022 result with a September 2026 facelift review. Different test years should not be treated as directly comparable scores.

What is the warranty on the Leapmotor B05 compared with the MG4?

The UK MG4 EV MY26 has seven years / 80,000 miles of vehicle cover. The UK B05 has four years / 60,000 miles of vehicle cover and Leapmotor states a separate eight-year / 100,000-mile battery warranty. Warranty length is a contract term, not a measured reliability rate.

Does the Leapmotor B05 have V2L?

Yes, the B05 offers vehicle-to-load. The MG4 EV also supports V2L and MG lists an accessory cable for it. Confirm the adapter, output and availability for the exact cars you are quoted; V2L is not a B05-only feature.

Which has the longer range, the MG4 or the Leapmotor B05?

At the UK versions compared here, the B05 is rated up to 300 miles WLTP and the 2026 MG4 EV Premium Long Range 280 miles WLTP. The separate, more expensive MG4 EV Premium Extended Range is rated up to 338 miles. WLTP is a lab comparison; it does not establish the motorway gap.

Leapmotor B05 vs MG4 Urban: which should I buy?

The MG4 EV Urban is a different front-wheel-drive model from the rear-wheel-drive MG4 EV MY26 Premium Long Range compared on this page. Urban has its own 2025 Euro NCAP result; B05 has a 2026 five-star result. Compare Urban’s current trim, price and battery separately rather than importing figures from this guide.

Can I use Tesla Superchargers with the MG4 EV or Leapmotor B05?

For either actual UK car, select a site shown open to other EVs and confirm compatibility. Tesla UK requires CCS and compliant communication; connector fit alone is not a guarantee. Check access and the current tariff in the Tesla app, and make sure the cable reaches comfortably while parked within the bay. Our buying advice: ask the dealer to demonstrate a charging session with the exact UK demo at your planned site, and compare both cars on that same basis.

Are MG4 EV and Leapmotor B05 £299 monthly offers directly comparable?

Not from the monthly headline alone. In the UK PCP examples checked on 5 October 2026, MG4 EV Premium Long Range has a £3,229.50 customer deposit, a 49-month agreement and 8,000 miles per year. B05 has a £999 customer deposit, a 48-month agreement and 6,000 miles per year. B05 therefore requires £2,230.50 less customer deposit in those examples, while MG includes more annual miles; this is not an overall cost ranking. The MG offer requires registration by 31 December 2026, whereas the B05 offer requires an order by that date. Both current examples list £30,495 OTR before the stated customer savings. Their optional final payments also differ: MG £9,913.50 and B05 £13,532. Eligibility, availability, grant qualifications and other terms matter, and offers can change. How do six-year ownership and higher mileage change the warranty comparison?

For new private-use UK cars, compare both time and mileage from first registration. At 10,000 miles a year, six years means 60,000 miles: MG4 remains inside its stated main 7-year/80,000-mile vehicle period, while B05 is beyond its 4-year/60,000-mile vehicle period. At a constant 20,000 miles a year, the main mileage caps are reached after four years for MG4 and three for B05. These are arithmetic examples, not reliability predictions or promises that every part remains covered. MG’s terms issued 1 July 2026 list infotainment separately at 36 months or 45,000 miles, whichever comes first, for manufacturing or material defects; other components have their own limits, and maintenance conditions apply. Ask both retailers for the applicable component schedule. Battery warranty is separate from main vehicle cover. Taxi/private-hire usage is outside these examples and has different MG terms. Are the MG4 and B05 battery warranties the same as their main vehicle cover?

No. Main vehicle cover, battery cover and component limits are separate. MG’s UK terms issued 1 July 2026 list high-voltage battery capacity below 70% of the original value for vehicles registered from 1 January 2024 at 96 months or 100,000 miles, subject to the policy’s conditions; this is distinct from its main seven-year/80,000-mile period. Leapmotor’s UK B05 information separately states eight years/100,000 miles for the battery and four years/60,000 miles for the vehicle. Matching battery headline periods do not prove identical capacity thresholds, exclusions or remedies. Get both applicable battery policies and component schedules in writing. MG infotainment, for example, has a separate 36-month/45,000-mile limit. Does “Premium Long Range” identify which UK MG4 is on my quote?

No. The two UK model ranges both use the Premium Long Range trim name. In MG’s UK specifications checked on 6 October 2026, MG4 EV Urban is front-wheel drive; its Long Range battery is listed as 53.9 kWh on the current product page. The MY26 MG4 EV Premium Long Range used in this B05 comparison is rear-wheel drive with a 64 kWh battery. These are different model ranges, so the trim name alone is not enough to match a dealer quote to this guide. Ask the retailer to state the full model name, model year, battery and trim, then use the comparison for that exact car. Urban can be a valid alternative, but it needs its own comparison. Battery size and drive layout alone do not establish which car is better value.
